Care4Congo, a grassroots non-profit organisation based in Melbourne, supports Congolese migrants and refugees in Australia and works to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Working in the areas of education, the promotion of human rights and community development, Care4Congo is dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of the Congolese people.

Care4Congo’s major goal is to set up a community centre in Goma where people can meet, share their stories and hopes for the future, access resources and training, and begin rebuilding their community. The centre will operate as a community hub and bring together community activists, leaders, civil society groups, and community associations.

Working with Diaspora Action Australia

The Humanitarian Crisis Hub (HCH; now Diaspora Action Australia), with financial assistance from the City of Melbourne, has supported Care4Congo’s organisational development and supported the development of a Community Awareness Night. HCH has also provided training, project planning support and assistance for Care4Congo’s Board in order to strengthen and grow the organisation.
