Women Leading Change (Melbourne)
Join us on Saturday 17 May for our next Women Leading Change Forum – bringing together women who are active in promoting human rights and peace in countries affected by war and conflict. Guest speakers on the day are Ms Zulaikha Rafiq, Director of the Afghan Women’s Educational Center (AWEC) – an organisation promoting human rights, peacebuilding and providing education services to women and girls in parts of Afghanistan and for Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Ms Isadora Quay, Gender in Emergencies Advisor for CARE Australia/CARE International. We will be going through advocacy strategy development, to raise awareness of human rights violations and humanitarian issues in countries affected by war and conflicts presented by Zulaikha Rafiq. The second session of the afternoon will be facilitated by Isadora Quay and will include a reassessment of the WLC network, the achievements made and the way forward. A 2014 work plan for the WLC network should be elaborated after the session. Please RSVP to confirm your attendance by emailing wlc@crisishub.org.au by Wednesday 14 May. |
