A journalist living in the DRC, Denis witnessed many horrific acts committed by soldiers in a refugee camp, including the rape of refugee women and girls. Refusing to remain silent and seeking justice, he reported these human rights violations and exposed the criminals. Although this led to their prosecution, Denis was forced to leave the DRC forever, and sought refuge in Australia.
